Embarking on a Lean Journey can support any strategic direction and the strong focus on effective execution enables immediate business results to be achieved. The additional gain, but also the challenge, is that a successful Lean implementation will make the benefits stick which calls for a new way of leadership.
Nowadays "Lean" is frequently used, but unfortunately often still misunderstood. During the luncheon James Huyghe, '08 and Paul Lorist will discuss the latest thinking on Lean Management, the critical success factors for successful implementation and personal reflections on the need of new leadership.

James Huyghe, '08 (Speaker)
Managing Partner, Nova Reperta
James Huyghe, '08 is an alumnus of the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a managing partner of Nova Reperta, a strategic consulting company with strong focus on Lean Management implementations. Prior to Nova Reperta, James worked at McKinsey where he was responsible for setting up a Lean Center at the Nyenrode University in the Netherlands, where he currently teaches Lean Management classes to executives and Lean practitioners.
Paul Lorist (Speaker), RET
Paul Lorist is part of the direction team of RET, the main public transport operator of Rotterdam, where he is responsible for the fleet and transport infrastructure. He is currently driving a Lean Journey in his departments to enable the new ambitious strategic plan. Paul has a strong passion for leadership, inspired by his long military career and passionate involvement in martial arts. He believes in the power of each individual, but believes leaders should get most out of each individual. Paul can share his experiences on the initial results of the introduction of Lean Management at the RET and the crucial role of all levels of management during the journey.
