As America's "Second City," Chicago has transformed itself into a global city. Explore issues that face the city as it strives to heighten its international profile.
Event Details
As America's 'Second City,' Chicago has transformed itself into a global city competing on the world stage. Yet, as the Chicago Tribune reports, it is less clear whether the rest of the world sees Chicago as a competitor with Shanghai, Singapore, London and Hong Kong. The Tribune is exploring the issues facing the city as it strives to heighten its international profile and carve a place for itself in the global economy. Nation & World editor Kerry Luft and global connections reporter Kathy Bergen will discuss the initiative, which aims to inform readers about Chicago's place in the world.
