Event Details

Whilst many segments of the traditional private equity markets have been slow to recover from the Global Financial Crisis, the infrastructure sector has continued to benefit from a strong growth thereby increasing its relative importance in the world of private equity. Unlisted infrastructure funds are reported to represent an aggregate of $250bn, an all-time high, which has been boosted by more than $45bn raised in the last twelve months alone for managers with a diverse range of strategies and operating in developed and emerging economies.

Such a rapid development creates new opportunities and challenges: what are the more interesting investment opportunities? Will returns come down as managers raise larger funds? What are the risks and challenges in investing in this sector?

We have invited several panellists to share their views on the importance and attractions of the Infrastructure sector:

  • Manish Gupta, Partner, Corporate Finance Team, Ernst & Young.
  • Chin Hau Boon, '05, Senior Vice President, Government of Singapore (GIC) Infrastructure Group.
  • Laurence Mulliez, '92, CEO, Eoxis Energy.
  • Eduardo Bozo, COO, Energy Business, Actis.
