On 13 May 2008, the European PE Roundtable had the pleasure to have special guest Marcel Erni,'91, Co-Founder and Executive Vice Chairman of The Partners Group. The Partners Groups is a leading private equity asset managers investor with interest in private equity, debt and real estate funds of funds, and it has a global team of over 100 investment professionals in seven offices.


In a friendly and informal environment at Restaurant Il Convivio, we had the pleasure to debate the recent and expected evolution of the private equity industry and the opportunity to get to know fellow London-based Chicago alumni.


Marcel is a founding Partner of Partners Group and a member of the board of directors. He is in charge of the business development committee and responsible for the firm's investment strategy. Previously, he was a private banker at Goldman Sachs & Co. in Zurich and a management consultant at McKinsey & Co. Marcel holds an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a doctorate and master's degree in finance and banking from the University of St. Gallen (HSG).
