Please join your fellow alumni for the first Distinguished Local Alumni Speakers Event -- an event that we hope will become a series of events to showcase the talents and successes of Chicago Booth alumni in the Greater Washington D.C. area -- to hear about MBA career choices and to promote alumni outreach.  This premiere event will take place at Vapiano on January 19, 2011, from 6-9pm.  Our featured alumnus is Emil Skodon, '76 a retired United States Ambassador and career foreign service officer.  Ambassador Skodon is one of the few U.S. officials to have personally experienced both the Iraqi attack on Kuwait in 1990 and the Al-Qaeda terrorist attack on Washington, DC in 2001.  He will speak about "Crisis Management in Government -- the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad during the First Gulf War, 1990" at 7pm for 20min.  There will be Q&A after the presentation, so please be prepared with questions for Ambassador Skodon.  Join us before and after the presentation for drinks and networking with your fellow alumni.
