Event Details
The wave of populism, antiglobalization, and euroskepticism sweeping the US and Europe threatens to upend conventional governing coalitions in France, Germany, and the Netherlands. What's at stake is the future of the Eurozone, transatlantic trade and security relations, liberal notions of social justice, and a Germany that has had Angela Merkel as Chancellor since 2005. Is the European Union as an institution threatened? Will Brexit and migration succeed in splitting the EU in ways that the economic crises and bailouts of Greece set in motion? Is Marine Le Pen a symptom or the cause of a troubled France? The International Roundtable is privileged to have Dr. Larivé, a noted expert on the European Union, answer these and other provocative topics.
