For decades, airport infrastructure in the United States has been funded by the tax-exempt bond market, user fees and federal spending. Today, these sources of funds are dwindling, at the same time that airport infrastructure needs are rapidly increasing. After years of inactivity, this dichotomy is prompting a rise in the use of private capital to operate, finance, manage and maintain airports in this country. Speaker Emmett McCann, a Managing Director at the Oaktree Infrastructure Fund, will discuss the market opportunity and recent successes (and failures) in the use of Public-Private Partnerships in the US airport market.

Mr. McCann joined Oaktree in 2014 from Highstar Capital with over 17 years of experience in private equity, investment banking and finance. Prior to joining Highstar in 2009, he helped lead Morgan Stanley's infrastructure effort in Europe and North America. Prior to joining Morgan Stanley, Mr. McCann worked in infrastructure investment banking at Goldman Sachs. He currently serves on the boards of directors for the Ports America Companies, Northstar Midstream and Aerostar Airport Holdings. Mr. McCann holds a B.A. degree in finance from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and an M.B.A. with honors from the University of Chicago.
