Event Details

In a June column entitled 'Be Careful What You Wish For If Trump Loses,' Ron Grossman argues that America is the midst of 'class warfare' and 'a status quo that isn't working for millions of Americans.' Grossman is conflicted by the sense that nothing will change as Hillary Clinton isn't likely to fix the condition and Donald Trump wouldn't either even though he has the political instincts to claim that he would. This ambivalence is rooted in Americans' skepticism about globalization which gives Americans inexpensive goods in mass merchant stores yet devastates entire industries, such as manufacturing, textiles, and apparel, which traditionally provided stable employment for generations of blue collar workers. Should the business community be concerned? How should it respond? Join us for a provocative and timely discussion as Grossman reflects on trade agreements, traditional Democrat and Republican constituencies, and the economy.
