UChicago Innovation Fest will officially kick-off with a fireside chat event featuring Bryan Johnson, MBA '07, founder of Braintree and Jon Fine, executive editor of Inc. magazine. Braintree is headquartered in Chicago and provides payment processing options for thousands of online and mobile companies including Airbnb, Uber, and LivingSocial. It won first place in the Edward L. Kaplan, '71, New Venture Challenge (NVC) in 2007 and was acquired by eBay's PayPal in 2013 for $800 million. Steve Kaplan, faculty director of the Polsky Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation and Neubauer Family Distinguished Service Professor of Entrepreneurship and Finance at Chicago Booth will provide welcome remarks to officially kick off UChicago Innovation Fest 2016 and the 20th anniversary celebration of the NVC, the university's premier business launch program run by the Polsky Center.
