In 2013, Booth launched its inaugural Emerging Markets Summit with tremendous success. The conference continues to attract more than 400 participants and includes more than 40 past speakers such as former Chicago Mayor Richard Daley; Babs Omotowa, Managing Director of Nigeria LNG; Zhao Weiping, Consul General for the People's Republic of China; Alfredo Moreno Charme, the Minister of Foreign Affairs for Chile; Paul Wolfowitz, Chairman, US-Taiwan Business Council; Sam Pitroda, Advisor to the Prime Minister of India; and Kwesi Botchwey, Former Finance Minister, Republic of Ghana. The 2016 Summit promises to be just as exciting as the last three events.
The EMS, conceived and organized by Booth students and supported by our administration, brings together five regionally focused business conferences and one pan-regional conference. This first-of-its-kind conference facilitates cross-regional interactions and promotes unique learning and networking opportunities for both students and practitioners.
